Working while on the road

If you have chosen to take the adventure and go to the roads as your lifestyle, you may find that it is sometimes neccessary to supplement your retirement. Some of us may need to work in order to maintain our lifestyle, others may do it just to meet new people. Whatever the reason, there are lots of seasonal jobs available.

We have worked managing a campground during the summer months in the Northern U.S., for awhile we worked in a general store at an RV Resort. The people that we have met at the jobs have become long time friends. When talking to other Rver's about work camping, you are going to find there are pros and cons to consider when seeking this type of employment. We have met people that have landed jobs and found it to be a very bad experience. Maybe the employer was difficult to work for, maybe the job description did not match what they were actually asked to do. So a little research on your part might prove to be beneficial.

Then we have met people that just love the jobs they have found and return year after year. We know one couple that have worked in Yosimite for so long, one would think it is time to retire again. You will also talk to people that have worked at the same places and had completely different expreinces. The point I am trying to make is each of us is different and what is pleasing to one person may not be to another. You must remember that the empolyer's are also entering into this relationship, site unseen same as us.

Talking with other Rver's will help you locate these jobs. You can also check with the
