Understanding Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi made Simple

The recent popularity of Wi-Fi technology for the RVer, is very exciting. We will now have a easy way to connect to the Internet and enjoy very high speeds.

Wi-Fi or Wireless Fidelity has been around for some time, but has just recently come down in price to where Rver's can afford the equipment and service. Here is how it works. If you picture a cordless phone setup, that most everyone has in their home, it will be easy to understand. With the cordless phone setup, you have a base station and a hand held cordless phone. The base station sends out a signal to the handset and you talk on the phone, very simple. Wi-Fi is much the same way, there is a wireless router that sends a signal to a card or adapter that is connected to your computer. For purposes of connecting to the Internet at an RV Park or Truckstop or Travel Center, we only need to know which card or adapter to use. Any of the following will work. To view a picture of each device, just click on it.
 PCI Adapter
 USB Adapter.

These devices will run in price from $30 to $70, if you see any of them for less then $30, it is a good deal.
