Upgrade that old Laptop

Before you go out and buy that new laptop, take a long look at your old one. Is it running good, does it still look pretty good, maybe you are considering replacing it because of a small hard drive, or maybe you would like to have more memory. If your laptop is only a few years old and still works good, why not consider upgrading the hard drive and increasing the memory. You will save a bunch of money and there is nothing wrong with that.

First lets look at the memory, a while back I wrote an article on increasing the memory of your computer. There are things to consider such as how much memory will my computer hold, how much memory is in there now, where do I get more memory and what is it that I need? To get answers to those questions, take a look at the article that I wrote,  www.rverscomputerhelp.com/memory.html

Now for the hard drive, by checking with the web site of the maker of your laptop, you can find how large the hard drive is that came with your laptop. Just go to support and enter the info for your laptop, you also can do a google search for a web site that sells hard drives and search their data base for the info. I know there are other ways to find your present hard drives capacity, but I have covered those in other articles and in the newsletter.

Here is the bottom line, I was able to search and find prices for my laptop, which is a Sony Vaio, about a year and a half old. I can double the memory of my laptop for $59.99 and double the size of my hard drive for $150.00. That is a lot less than buying a new laptop. I only checked one place for prices, if you search further than I did and if you have an older laptop than mine, it is going to cost you even less. Something to consider !!!!
