Emoticons, what are they?

There are many different languages and ways to project yourself and your feelings while on the Internet. If you are in a chat room, leaving a message on a message board or sending an email, you can use letter abbreviations or make little symbols with your keyboard to express your emotions. This is where the term Emoticon comes from, making a little happy face or something similiar to get your point across. An example would be to use the letters LOL, for laughing out loud or to use the keyboard to make a happy face, ":-)". In this article we will show a list of symbols made using the keyboard to represent words.
