Buying an RV

Those that have purchased RV's in the past, have a pretty good idea of what would suit them best to travel in. Those that are looking for the first time and have not traveled in an RV before, have some decisions to make. Even if you were a weekend RVer, you will probably find that long term RV living is a lot different.

So do you want a Motorhome or a Trailer? For first timers, I would suggest renting one or the other and taking it out for a few days. You might find it was nothing like you thought it would be, or you might find it is just what you want and your search is over.

When I was younger a regular travel trailer was what I wanted. After getting one and using it for awhile, I decided a 5th wheel would be easier to hook up and unhook and it was. Now I find a Motorhome more appealing. So when you are considering an RV, think of the future, if there is a change in your health, will you be able to still use your RV. Of course you have no way of knowing evrything, but it is something to consider.

Also when shopping for an RV, do your home work on the dealer that you might be buying from. Ask other Rver's and see where they bought theirs and if they were happy with the deal. Sometimes the sales part of the deal might go well and the service part doesn't. So if you rent an RV, take time to talk with others at the campgrounds you go to. Gather as much information as you can.
